• This mask is NOT intended for medical or healthcare workers, and should not be confused with N95 respirators or other personal protective equipment (PPE). No warranties, either express or implied, are being made that these face masks prevent infection or the transmission of viruses or diseases.
• Our masks are not tested or designed to achieve specific protection levels for any medical scenarios.  We select fabrics, patterns, and layers according to publicly available continuing advice based on research and notifications from scientific and medical authorities.  These guidelines are being updated by the authorities on a daily basis.
• This fabric, non-medical, mask is meant for community protection.  Its purpose is primarily to limit oral and nasal projection away from you toward others, while providing limited incoming filtration and protection from dust, dirt, pollen, and airborne particles.  It is not specifically designed or tested for filtering specific pathogens.

• After your order is placed it may leave our Santa Fe, NM warehouse on the same day or up to four business days later depending on order backlogs.

• Wash before first use
• Washable and reusable.
• Cold-water washing preferably by hand with light soap
• Wring out and hang dry is optimal for mask durability.
• Colors may run on initial wash for some of the exterior layer designs

The CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

The CDC continues to study the spread and effects of the novel coronavirus across the United States.  We now know from recent studies that a significant portion of individuals with coronavirus lack symptoms "asymptomatic") and that even those who eventually develop symptoms ("pre-symptomatic") can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms.

"When space is tight, or you're in an area where it's hard to be six feet apart, the cloth mask ultimately protects others from you that's really the idea behind it," he said. "It's an extension of public health and helping to reduce the spread of coronavirus in the community."

"Masks can help stop us from touching our faces, can be a visual reminder to use social distancing, and can also help cover a cough or sneeze."

Dr. Hamilton said people should still be following shelter-at-home orders, and reminds us a mask is meant as an extra layer of protection when venturing out for essential reasons - like food or to see the doctor.

Experienced artisan skills, such as the close selection of appropriate combinations of fabric, hand-cutting patterns, and detailed stitching are redeployed to the construction of each mask. 

These masks help family, friends, neighbors, and customers take individual action in maintaining community safety, as well as using the funds generated to feed quarantine areas where the normal economic activity has been paralyzed.
