Rose gold started in Russia during the early 19th century and was nicknamed “Russian Gold” but soon became obsolete as its popularity in the region declined. After the mid-20th century, this jewelry style regained its legacy. Many agreed that the gold was a good choice for engagement rings. Recently though, the term “rose gold” was used by smartphone manufacturers as a color addition to their products, further popularizing this already fashionable shade.
