Walking Buddha on Oval
Walking Sukhotai Buddha. One of the less common images in contemporary reproductions, this classic posture was far more prevalent in earlier times. The Sukhotai image is named after the kingdom in Northern Thailand, considered one of the kingdoms of Thai Golden Era. The fluid, graceful lines enhance the serene aura of the Buddha. The left hand is held in Abhaya mudra, that of peace and freedom from fear.
Bronze Each piece you see here is made individually by our master artisans. The craftsmanship involved creates slight variations in color, finish, size, and shape - a quality we consider to be an added touch of uniqueness. The remarkable detail of our bronze sculptures is due to meticulous and labor-intensive care by Thai craftsmen to produce these unique sculptures of exquisite detail and timeless durability. Buffing, polishing, and patinising give each piece its final green-grey verdigris or bronze luster, which conveys the essence of what we at Eastern Serenity begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting admire in South-East Asian art.
